Rose for Summer

I'm really enjoying roses at the moment as they seem to be flourishing. I've been drawing alot and sewing too. I need a new light bulb for my sewing machine actually as at the moment I can only sew with the natural light, which as you can see from the window above isn't huge. The heat and sun is beautiful and makes me feel healthy, I'm trying to do as much work outside as I can but its not particularly good for silk.

Poppy Powdering Honeybee Purple

As I was walking down the garden path the other day I was happy to find this situation of a bee which had been pollinating this lovely soft pink poppy, and being coated in the purple pollen in the process!

Pink, White, Peach, Yellow, Red, Orange and Purple Roses Found in The Garden

Roses have to be one of the most beautiful of the traditional English plants, my mum loves them as much as most gardening enthusiasts as shown above by her plentiful collection. All the colours are completely unaltered and as bright and rich in the flesh. Had a lovely weekend in rainy Brighton but dont miss it at all. I have finished my first cushion prototype and shown my family, we are all happy with it, so this Sunday I aim to make a video of the construction of my cushions for anyone interested.

Hints of Red on a Green Wet Walk

Some rich poignant hidden reds and crimsons hidden beneath dripping leaves. I'm off to Brighton this weekend to celebrate my best friends finishing Uni, I cant wait. Have a good weekend.

NEST - First Project for MSKJ

Here are some photographs outlining the basis for my first and current project for my new label, MSKJ I'm pretty happy with how its taking shape and hope you all like it too. I am really interested in Art Nouveau and this has influenced this project directly with the lines shapes and colours. I have based it on nests as I love the containment and strong connection we all have with this idea as we all nest in beds, often with feathers. I am using golden eggs as the fantasy of these is fascinating and eye catching. I'm off to the seaside this weekend but should have prototypes finished by the end of next, hopefully some nice weather soon also..
